Hi, I’m Joel; I’m a historian and writer from the north coast of Cornwall this is my new website. I am a post-grad researcher at the University of Exeter and the Institute of Cornish Studies, studying Richard Trevithick in Latin America 1816-27.
My first book, ‘Long Road to Nowhere: The Lost Years of Richard Trevithick (Part One)’ detailing my adventures through Chile and Bolivia on the hunt for Trevithick (sort of) and other Cornish miners, was published in June 2024
My next two books A Torrent of Silver: Richard Trevithick in Peru and On the Avocado Mountain: Richard Trevithick in Costa Rica are both in preparation.
